We believe that our conversations are to be faith building and posts that advance heretical or apostate thinking will be immediately deleted and the poster permanently banned from the forum. Enjoy your fellowship

In order to understand the importance of Christian fellowship, we must first understand what Christian fellowship is and what it isn’t. The Greek words translated “fellowship” in the New Testament mean essentially a partnership to the mutual benefit of those involved. Christian fellowship, then, is the mutually beneficial relationship between Christians, who can’t have the identical relationship with those outside the faith. Those who believe the gospel are united in the Spirit through Christ to the Father, and that unity is the basis of fellowship. This relationship is described by Jesus in His high-priestly prayer for His followers in John 17:23. The importance of true Christian fellowship is that it reinforces Christ centeredness in our mind and helps us to focus on Christ and His desires and goals for us. As iron sharpens iron, in true Christian fellowship Christians sharpen one another's faith and stir one another to exercise that faith in love and good works, all to God’s glory.

My Bible has 66 books, none of them written by pagans or Roman Catholics, and none of them written by order of Constantine. Sorry you were deceived into thinking otherwise. Such a waste.

Your grammar is a problem and you need to work on that.

Your point seems to be that calling the Scriptures the "Bible" is some how a problem.  The word "bible" simply means book.

The Bible was not written by the early church fathers.  There is zero evidence for such a claim.

So your problem is the claim that Constantine ordered some Bibles.

First Constantine did not refer to them as Bible but "sacred Scriptures."

Chapter XXXVI.—Constantine’s Letter to Eusebius on the Preparation of Copies of the Holy Scriptures.

"Victor Constantinus, Maximus Augustus, to Eusebius.

"It happens, through the favoring providence of God our Saviour, that great numbers have united themselves to the most holy church in the city which is called by my name. It seems, therefore, highly requisite, since that city is rapidly advancing in prosperity in all other respects, that the number of churches should also be increased. Do you, therefore, receive with all readiness my determination on this behalf. I have thought it expedient to instruct your Prudence to order fifty copies of the sacred Scriptures, the provision and use of which you know to be most needful for the instruction of the Church, to be written on prepared parchment in a legible manner, and in a convenient, portable form, by professional transcribers thoroughly practiced in their art. The catholicus of the diocese has also received instructions by letter from our Clemency to be careful to furnish all things necessary for the preparation of such copies; and it will be for you to take special care that they be completed with as little delay as possible. You have authority also, in virtue of this letter, to use two of the public carriages for their conveyance, by which arrangement the copies when fairly written will most easily be forwarded for my personal inspection; and one of the deacons of your church may be entrusted with this service, who, on his arrival here, shall experience my liberality. God preserve you, beloved brother!"

Second, he did not order 21 but 50.

Third, the year was not 321 but A.D. 331.

You have not gotten even the simplest of historical facts correct.  All of your claims are demonstrably false.

The Bible is God's words. Jesus Christ is God's Word. The words in the Bible are mostly 'words about God', not a magic book that can be used to conjure a life full of success from, supplied by God. The Bible does not claim to 'Speak for God'. Scripture claims only of itself that it is. "given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." Any claim further than this is going beyond what scripture itself claims and is therefore 'adding to the scriptures', what the scriptures do not actually say.

The notion that 'The Bible' is 'God's Word' is profoundly blasphemous and insulting, if taken to its logical conclusion. It it were so then this would be God speaking not Satan. “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” Matt.4:3. “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’
and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’” Which just goes to show that Satan himself knows The Bible and can quote it accurately, better than a lot of ardent 'believers' seem to be able to.

The Bible is the Library you go to, to find out about God and how to properly serve Him, to get insight, learn knowledge and become wise. But if you elevate it to become a superstitious icon and some kind of oracle of God's conversation with you, telling you what to do each minute of the day, its time to see a psychiatrist.

First, you give no argument or evidence for any claim you have made.

Second, every comment you made in regard to the historical facts were wrong.

Third, your remark does nothing to address P37.  Your comment truly does reflect your own ignorant arrogance on this topic.

No need.  You are wrong.  I gave evidence.  If you have counter evidence from a reliable historical source, then cite it.  Let me help you.

Just as I thought.  You have nothing, no argument, no evidence.  If you did you would have posted it by now.  In fact I offered up to you The Catholic Encyclopedia but when given the change to support your claims you have fallen flat on your rear end.

At least I don't lie as you clearly have,   Moreover I am able to cite historical sources, facts, and do research.  You have no idea what those things are.  You are unable support your claims on any level.

lol Who said it did?  Not me!   Nor did Constantine for that matter.  Guess your forgot your original claim.  The only thing quick about you is the fact you are quick to get the facts wrong.

On 8/4/2018 at 7:43 PM, Brother James said:

lol  The truth of the matter is you cannot cite any historical sources to back up any claim you have made.  Now you are trying to turn the tables in a most pathetic manner regarding something I never said.  But I guess you did the best you could given your complete lack of honesty and integrity.

People like you show up here all the times.  They come here with claims which they cannot support nor do they really know how.  When challenged rather supporting their claims with evidence, scholarly sources, historical sources, and cogent arguments, they attack the person challenging them because they lack all those things I just mentioned.  You are not special or unique.  You are very much made from the same mold.  When challenged to put up or shut up you immediately cracked and that tell us everything we need to know about your lack character.

@William

It doesn't matter when Talmud written. Jews admitted, that's important. There's no reliable proof that prophets wrote their books.

The proof is that you have to examine the elements of Holy Writ and come to the conclusion as to how it came about. No one can attest to the Word of God but those who received it and wrote it as they were moved by God the Holy Spirit. We read,,," And so we have the prophetic word confirmed which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place ,until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. "/ " Knowing first that that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation , " /" for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit ." 2nd Pt.1: 19-21

We can attest to this because the entire Word of God was inspired in the hearts of holy men of God as God Himself moved them into recording his sacred  Scripture. From Genesis to Revelation.

Scripture is under constant attack by Satan and his ministers . We read ..." But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them ,and bring upon themselves swift destruction. " /" And many will follow their destructive ways ,because  the way of truth will be blasphemed ."  2nd.Pt.2:1-2

There are no valid arguments to refute the inspired Word of God . To say that the true prophets were untrustworthy would have to include every prophet and apostle who has ever penned a single word in holy writ. The authentic witness of God Word is the indwelling Holy Spirit . Because all true believers have the indwelling Holy Spirit and therefore have the Spirit of Discernment .   M
