Christian Fellowship

John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Are you really under 17 years of age?

I didn't notice your age AGustofwind in your profile. I am glad you're here on this forum, I know we can get what some perceive as rough at times. Please do not take such posts personally when we are hammering out the word on the anvil of God.

I am praying that you grow in the faith and are blessed with discernment. I realize at your age that you're under a tremendous social influence.

God bless,

William

Oh no, you're fine, thank you for the prayers though, I appreciate it. :) This is a nice place, it's why I haven't stopped posting, you don't come off as rough, you're just speaking your mind.

Again, thank you. God bless.
