    Was Simon saved?

I agree with Fastfredy0, thar Simon was a believer in the faith. And will further add that this is a very good description of the gap that not only Simon but many in today's Christian assemblies are found. And unfortunately these ones do not know that they lack and are in serious error.

I Want To Suffer MORE for Jesus Christ

We are do be different from how everyone else (the unbelieving world) responds as we read in scripture. Jesus explains this well in his sermon on the mount particularly in Mat 5:11; “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Matt 5:38-40 ; You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. Matt 5:43-48; You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. Christ was crucified because of slander. He did not spend his time in front of rulers to clear his name. We are to be his examples and follow as he walked. How can one walk in the spirit in a negative way I wonder as you have referred? The desire to ‘set them straight’ you say is how you would respond, and that we are not to be doormats. The priority is not to be about setting anyone straight, or becoming a doormat - as a follower of Christ - although I did not say that I would not respond to the situation I said that I submitted to the Lord and searching the scriptures on how I need to deal with the matter. Taking a stand for the truth is not what the bible teaches. Taking a stand for Christ – this is what I am explaining on how we do this. I have had slander, and gossip and lies spread about me. I submitted it to the Lord, I suffered the pain (to my pride, my reputation, my rights, my job) and instead chose to take up Christ – and what He says and walked in His way. It was the narrow way, and the most beautiful way that lead me to life and freedom. this is what I call the ultimate positive.

I Want To Suffer MORE for Jesus Christ

The core of the Christian faith is to know, understand and walk in the Spirit. You cannot walk in the spirit and at the same time walk in the flesh. This is what Christ was referring to when he said that anyone who wants to follow him must first be one who deny’s himself and takes up his cross daily. What are we to deny? Our flesh. What are we to crucify? Our flesh. The flesh as it is referred to in scripture is our adamic sinful nature that seeks to serve self. The Spirit is at enmity with this because it wants to serve God. An example of suffering in this way could be: When I hear about someone slandering and spreading lies about me, I do not set out to justify myself or set them straight this is what my flesh demands. Instead I trust that God knows the truth and He is the one who is my defender. I first submit to him and will listen and study the word in all that I do regarding the matter. That will involve blessing this person and forgiving and this is done through the Spirit among other things. In this process, I continue to crucify the desires in me that may arise of retaliation, self pity etc. And cling to the truth. As I I lay aside my desire to be justified, to be right and to have good standing with others- this is where I suffer. Forgiving the offender when your heart is broken and all that screams at you to hate them - I suffer as I humble myself. Perhaps I lose a job because of the slander, I do not talk badly about the person, but ask Gods blessing upon them while I am faced with the challenge of no income, I suffer in my silence. the suffering is not necessarily what happens to us but what we do not give place to; anger, retaliation, grudge, self pity, gossip and on goes the list.

I Want To Suffer MORE for Jesus Christ

When you say you have suffered for 33 years, and then later clarify you suffer in the flesh I would like to concur with you on that, as I too suffer and the correct term is denying our self, crucifying the flesh and this is what it means to follow Christ. Then there is the persecution aspect of living out our faith. Where suffering is usually part of this. And thirdly there is the trials, and tribulations that we will go through to refine us which grows us up and strengthens our faith. I appreciate your desire to suffer, but be careful if I may caution you as another has already said. Suffering comes in our serious walks in Christ, but this should not be our goal. Loving God with our whole heart mind and soul and our neighbor as ourself is Doing all that Christ commands and following Him involves the Loving Him. Bless you in your devotion to Christ

    The Cost of Discipleship.

I believe to take up our cross requires of us a cost, which is to lose our life, so we may gain his; Matt 16.25. We are to crucify the demands of our flesh, which could be things like our need to be right or to point out a wrong in others, our desires for comfort and pleasures, the compulsion of being angry or to fear - or all or anything that dictates what, how, why, etc we do things that are from a self orientated motive. It's putting down (or nailing to the cross) what we want to do and picking up what Christ wants instead. As Paul says, I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who lives but Christ lives in me Gal.2:20a. It's obedience that requires our discipline ..... the narrow way as Jesus puts it. As we empty our own self - through a crucified lifestyle we are filled and empowered by Christ to do all that he requires of us and it is our joy to serve Him, by serving others!

    The Ultimate Gift

The ultimate gift. Was given and was wrapped up in the person of Jesus Christ, God’s beloved Son. For His Son, is like the parable of the talent Matt 25:14-30; – where the master has given to each of the three a measure. This was His deposit to them, His gift. Yet it was not to be treated as their own to tuck away but instead to be taken as something to grow and make increase. We all read the plight of the one servant who did nothing with it as it angered the master greatly! Likewise, we will all be asked one day, “What have you done with My Beloved Son?” John 3:16 John 10:10 Matt 10:39 Quoted from https://waytruthandlifeweb.wordpress.com/

I'm not understanding where you are coming from. I include this on all my posts for only one reason, to share with others Christ. No other motive. If you were to go to my site you would see. Perhaps if you would not look at is an advertisement as such, but as more like....hey, come on over to my place and I'll show you my heart in Christ!

    The Eye of a Needle

Quoted from my blog site: https://waytruthandlifeweb.wordpress.com/ Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 The question may be, how is it that one would ‘go through’ Jesus? It is through His death and His resurrection that one must follow. This is the only path that one may go to get to the Father. Many do not desire to understand this and therefor they walk in the plan of their own making. They set up many religious ways that sound and look quite right, but will not lead anyone to the Father. Instead, they must die, and live crucified and walk in the resurrection Jesus provided us, for this is the way the truth and the life and it is all encompassed in Jesus. When He spoke to the rich young ruler and said that it is harder for the rich to enter the kingdom then a camel to go through the eye of a needle but that nothing is impossible with God – this is a picture of those who walk in the Spirit, for nothing is impossible for such as these. Matt 19:16-26 To walk in the spirit means to go by the way, the truth and the life – Jesus. For the flesh, pride, and the world are to be left behind – and in this anyone can go through and all eyes of any needle! This is the joy of the Spirit and Truth! It requires sacrifice, but will receive the joy of the Lord in so doing. Oh, to believe in Jesus, is to walk in Jesus! Amen!

    The Sin of Approval

Taken from my blog site: https://waytruthandlifeweb.wordpress.com/ Be careful Christian – what it is you lay your eyes and rest your ears upon! Consider this when you are before any screen, reading any pages of a book or material, or whose company you keep; what you are occupied, entertained and distracted by! Lest we forget the sin of approval. Romans 1: 18-32 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
