Could Dwayne Johnson be the next US President? Bookies dramatically slash odds on The Rock becoming the next US president after the superfan officially launches his Run the Rock 2020 campaign

There is now a campaign that petitions Pro-Wrestler turned Actor, Dwayne Johnson to run for President. From what I know he is not a democrat because he grows up with Christian and Samoan values. He don't have political experience though but so does Donald Trump. From what I know he will run as Independent because his values is more similar to republicans but he opposes some of Trump's policies.

On the other hand democrats want either Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders. Are you going to give the Rock a chance? We had an actor President before.

Kanye West and Paris Hilton are also vocal about trying Presidency.

Never Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders. They'd both do well in a rigid, socialist "government," where the people have no say. Never heard of Dwayne Johnson, not interested in anyone with no skills.

It is hard to even try to predict what will happen in 2020 at this point. Possibly, President Trump might not even run for a second term, and that would leave the field open for just about anyone to run. If Johnson runs as an Independant, what he would likely do is split the Republican and Independant votes, allowing the Democratic candidate to win.
Again it is hard to predict what will happen, but I do not truly expect to see either Bernie or Hillary running for president four years from now. Neither of them are young anymore, and both , especially Hillary, have health issues that would make it hard for either one of them to do much actual campaigning.
Since Bernie was extremely popular with younger people, and college age in particular; I would guess that the Democrats will pick someone who will follow in Bernie's footsteps, and is younger. They might even add Bernie as a VP, just to retain all of the Bernie supporters.
The United States could be sitting on the brink of a financial collapse that nothing can stop; but if that does happen, it is for sure that President Trump will get the blame for it, and that would cost him any chance of being re-elected next time, assuming that he runs for a second term.

Dwayne Johnson is the highest paid Hollywood actor now. He use to be a wrestler but he is now an actor and a businessman. I think he is now a Billionaire so I can't say he has no skills. He is a college Graduate he doesn't have a tainted reputation so we cannot really say he is dumb. I am not sure if he will do a great politician but I think he can handle the debates because Pro-wrestlers are trained to make impromptu promos. His biggest advantage though is his fame.

Wow, I can't say I'm surprised; this just shows how desperate we are as a nation...

Anyone know what side of the aisle he is on? I have heard in a couple places he considers himself a Christian, but he is also a very popular, and well paid, actor; which lends an assumption that he may be a bit liberal. I guess he could take a 4-8 year break out of his movie career to be POTUS. I would have to hear where he stands on the issues though. Thus far he has only joked at running. No serious statements have been made yet.

He is republican because most Samoans are conservative Christians but he doesn't like Trump. That might be his trigger to run as Independent. I think he is a conservative who managed to appeal even to the liberals because he is not preachy about his beliefs. He is not the only celebrity who is interested with the presidency. Most of the celebs who wants to run though are liberals.

Most independent candidates are not allowed to attend the debates because of the law they must have 15 percent approval rating. He might be the first independent candidate who might be able to reach that quota because of his mainstream appeal.

I think if Dwayne Johnson actually throws his hat in the 2020 ring it will demonstrate our election process is considered to be a joke. He's unqualified on every level for highest office.

I think that has been true for some of the other people who have been elected president.

fame is not to be the center focus for choosing any kind of leader, compassion toward the people, and wisdom to know what one does is far more essential,as much as Dwayne Johnson is likeable and as you put it "he is not dumb" but as much as I acknowledge many people could be presidents/leaders one still must have an adequate reasoning of what they are getting themselves into, because business and fame, and acting aren't all to being a decent president/leader you must be able to figure out what you sign, what you promote, and what bills can be best to inact for a nation as a whole,as well as be able to take criticism and insults, because not everything a president/leader signs to be active even with good intentions will be liked by everyone, there is always a nay sayer,if a person can wrap their head around this then there is a good chance that anyone Such as the rock Dwayne Johnson, could be president or at least that is my view on this subject, because I believe too many people are put on pedestals before they have taken enough thought to what they are capable of handling.

I think all others were and are more qualified than a former football player, former professional wrestler, and actor.
Reagan was an actor but he was also Governor of California before entering the White house. He had experience in office. Dwayne Johnson does not have that.
