Winds of Doctrine or Changes in the Church

Over the last 70 years many changesin doctrine have occurredin order to make the church more and more apealing to those who formerly departed the faith on moral grounds.

Among these changes are changes in morals concerning:

    Abortion

    Euthanasia

    Homosexuality (& Gay Marriage)

Women in The Clergy(specific clerical roles)

    Attitudes about/towards Divorce

These changes mean that if faithful christian from 70 years ago was to somehow be transported to our day he would find that churches today teach or stand for the very things he finds ungodly or repugnant.

And what has happened to church attendance in that time? It's dramatically dropped as each of these Winds of Doctrine has taken hold of the church at large. And Society at large has become more lawless, and more violent.

even as little as 30 years ago a school shooting would have been unheard of....now it is at the brink of becoming a commonplace event.

When will the church wake up the the responsibility it has shirked in be the place where moral standards are taught openly and where being a Christian meant standing up for the good of all by unabashedly teaching the faith and morals that the word Christian stood for....and can do so again.

Let us each prayerfully consider what we each as individuals families and communities can do to bring the church back to Christ.

This is exactly why I am Reformed, Creedal, and Confessional. Creeds and Confessions have a way of keeping the church body from swaying with the times and culture.
