    Last Days

Are we in the last days of Daniel's forty weeks?

We've been living in the last days from the time Jesus came. In Daniel the angel informs him that, "70 weeks had been determined for the Jews." After the 70 weeks were done iniquity would be brought to an end. Jesus began preaching the gospel in the 62nd week and was killed in the middle of the week [after preaching the gospel for 3 and 1/2 years. That would leave us with only 7 and 1/2 weeks left before iniquity would be brought to an end. The days of grace however were extended because of Christ Jesus' sacrifice. So yes, we are living in the last days.

We are between the 69th and 70th weeks.
And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war. Desolations are decreed.
      (Daniel 9:26 ESV)
The crucifixion and resurrection of Christ take place at the end of the 69th week and this is followed by the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple by the people of the coming prince. After this the prince will make a seven year covenant with the Jews but break the covenant in the middle of this time.
And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”
      (Daniel 9:27 ESV)
The prince is the one known as the beast or the antichrist and the the last part of the week is a period of 3 1/2 years known as the Great Tribulation. This is still in the future and most of the events in Revelation will take place during this time. Quite honestly it doesn't matter where we are in the "70 weeks", "thousand years", or whatever. Prepare your heart as though the end of the world will happen right now. But plan your life as though it will not happen after you are dead and buried.

Too many people get caught up in end times predictions to the point they lose focus on what is important, the great commission. Plant God's seeds of salvation in as many people you are able and forget about when the end of the world is supposed to happen.

Agreed. No one knows the day nor the hour when Jesus will return. And like the wise virgins everyone should be ready for the King's return for it is written, "let the righteous continue to practice righteousness, and the holy continue to be holy.” 12“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each person according to what he has done . . ." The end will come but do we know when ours will come? [[[As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. When the wind has passed over it, it is no more]]].
