    Favorite Christmas Movies ?
    in Movies
    by FolkArtist
    Does anybody have any favorite Christmas movies that they like to watch around the holidays? I tend to watch a couple of these movies they show sometimes on the religious channels(TBN),where I became aware of them. The two I like are "A Christmas Snow" and has Catherine Mary Stewart in it,and its about finding the true meaning of Christmas and the other is the"The Christmas Box" and has Richard Thomas in it,and is about a guy that keeps having a dream about an angel. I tend to watch these two every year around Christmas.

    Why should mankind believe in God?
    by Necy Kate
    “God created all things, and so He makes all creation come under His dominion, and submit to His dominion; He will command all things, so that all things are in His hands. All creation of God, including animals, plants, mankind, the mountains and rivers, and the lakes—all must come under His dominion. All things in the skies and on the ground must come under His dominion. They cannot have any choice, and must all submit to His orchestrations. This was decreed by God, and is the authority of God. God commands everything, and orders and ranks all things, with each classed according to kind, and allotted their own position, according to God’s will. No matter how great it is, no thing can surpass God, and all things serve the mankind created by God, and no thing dares to disobey God or make any demands of God. And so man, as a creature of God, must also perform the duty of man. Regardless of whether he is the lord or ruler of all things, no matter how high man’s status among all things,...

    Reply to The LGBT community.
    by Jamsy
    The bible expressly condemns homosexuality and calls it an abomination. Churches who call themselves Christians and support same-sex marriage and even twist the bible to defend homosexuality should be ashamed of themselves, Unless they truly repent and refrain from homosexual acts and immoral relations with others of the same sex, homosexuals continue to violate God's laws and undermine their salvation. I don't believe in LGBT rights. Each member of the LGBT already have rights either as man or woman. To give them rights as LGBT is an act that gives them undue advantage over other men and women. I don't hate homosexuals either. In the bible, they are lumped with murderers, perjurers, liars, adulterers, swindlers, and other violators of God's laws but they can change like the rest of other sinners. However, they can't begin to see the light of truth if some groups of people continue to coddle them.

    Where Does Life Come From
    in Poetry
    by Necy Kate
    God uses His life to supply all things both living and lifeless, bringing all to good order by virtue of His power and authority. This is a truth which none can conceive or easily comprehend, and these incomprehensible truths are the very manifestation of and testament to the life force of God. The greatness and power of the life of God cannot be fathomed by any creature. It is thus now, was thus then, and will be thus in time to come.

    The source of life comes from God, for all creation, whatever the difference in form or structure. You cannot move counter to the path of life that God has set. All God wishes is for man to understand that without the care, keeping, and provision of God, man cannot receive all that he was meant to receive, no matter how great the effort or struggle. Without the supply of life from God, man loses the sense of value in living; without the supply of life from God, man loses the sense of purpose in life....

    Reply to Wearing a cross
    in Lounge
    by Jamsy
    There are also debates about the recognition of the cross as a symbol of Christianity as some quarters claim that it was initially used in pagan practices. Personally, my being a Christian is not tied to any symbol, including the cross. Otherwise, I would be guilty of idolatry. I don't wear a cross as a jewelry or for anything that has to do with my faith. I know that some people wear them or those mini rosaries with a crucified image in them. While I respect them for being open about their religious belief, I don't believe in wearing such symbol to prove that I am a Christian. God knows what is in my heart and I don't need to convince fellow human beings and myself that I am a true Christian. As for others who use the cross as a fashion accessory, I can't really judge their action to be blasphemous unless they start talking against God and what Jesus Christ did on the cross....

    I am unsure. Macron was ahead by 3% in the first round and predicted to win 61% / 39% but he has made some serious missteps in the last few days. Throwing a victory party after the first round put a few people's backs up, and the French factory incident today has let Le Pen start eating into his support. She has a long way to go if she's to win, but if she gets in it will probably spell the end of the EU. I honestly think this one is too close to call....

    Reply to What does it mean to truly pray?
    by Jamsy
    For me, to truly pray means to communicate with God and pour my heart out to Him trusting that He is listening to every word that I say, and knowing that He is a living, loving,and merciful God who is always looking after his children. Who is man that God should be mindful of him? Yet my God has been there for me all the time and has taken care of me throughout my life. He has repeatedly proven His faithfulness. I didn't deserve His grace, yet it was given to me. I can't help but be thankful for His love and for his presence in my life. I've always prayed as a child, but my prayers had always been memorized prayers. I've since grown up and I've learned to appreciate the value of truly praying to God and thanking Him for everything that's happening in my life.

    In our church youth group, Evangelism is the Most unpopular Department. When Most young people are asked why they Don't join the Department, they claim to be too shy. As a matter of fact Most of them have trouble confessing their faith in public.
    Have you ever felt shy of confessing that Jesus is your Lord ănd Savior?

    have you ever doubted God's existence?
    in God
    by adssolsn
    I Know this is a Bit of an odd yet Not very strange question.
    but i remember a time when Life was so Hard on me to a point i doubted God was still in control. but what really ticks me off is when Bad things happens to good people while great things continually happen to evil people. for example, i have Seen politicians take advantage of poor innocent citizens over ănd over again. Sometimes to an extent of hiring gangs to kill people so they Stay in Power yet they are never brought to justice. they steal enormous amounts of money from taxpayers through corrupt deals ănd yet live as if nothing happened.
    those are the times i ask; where thy At my Lord?
    Do you Ever feel the Same?

    I think he shouldn't have said that because as a Muslim leader how he considers his religion as important, the same goes for other religion too. Talking profanely about another religion is an unnecessary thing to do and now he is facing unwanted consequences. Besides religion, we are all human beings first so why bad mouth some one's faith? This is not a good thing to do at all as a leader.

    I think chances are fair for Macron as Le Pen is lagging behind in the recent polls and also the surveys seem to be in favor of Macron. But Le Pen seems to be trying hard having dressed as a fisherman and meeting the reporters at Le Grau du Roi. What I don't like is that she is restricting immigration. Another thing caught me is that students are even protesting that they neither want Macron and Le Pen. Looking forward to the election result on May 7....

    Grand-dad's war stories ... testimonies of protection
    by Watcher7
    Possibly something your dad or granddad recounted ... Do you have one to share?
    These things should be documented before they are forgotten!

    . . . . . .

    I have found a selection here.

    I recounted the story of 24,500 troops escaping Narvik (Norway) protected by a sea fog that shielded them from German warships Sharnhorst and Gneisenhau only 1 mile away to our guide at Bletchley Park. He said "there are many of those stories, all for us, none for them".

    Taken in isolation they may be attributed to "good luck", but put together maybe not so....

    I Don't See how God will Plan to hurt His faithful children.

    Reply to Shock Election & a leader's faith?
    by theophilus
    A Christian should put God first in every area of his life. If he is in a position of authority in a government every act he takes should be consistent with God's will. However that doesn't mean he should pass laws requiring others to become Christians. All citizens of a country have the same rights regardless of their religious beliefs and a Christian leader must respect those rights.

    The sense of smell
    by theophilus
    Psalm 115:5-7 describes some characteristics of idols, contrasting them with God.

    They have mouths, but do not speak;
    eyes, but do not see.
    They have ears, but do not hear;
    noses, but do not smell.
    They have hands, but do not feel;
    feet, but do not walk;
    and they do not make a sound in their throat.

    We all know that God sees and hears everything that happens and he has the ability to speak and act, but he has a sense of smell too. The first mention of it is found in Genesis 8:20-22.

    Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And when the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. While the earth...

    No one can come to power unless God wills it. Sometimes he allows evil rulers as judgment on a nation. If you read the book of Revelation you will find that he is going to allow an evil ruler known as the beast to rule the world.
