John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Prayer for our new house

Recommended Posts

We are currently in the middle of closing on a house we have in California, and are also supposed to close on a house we are buying in Texas.  Due to some complications, and lack of information, we have more costs than we had planned for in regard to these events.  I am requesting prayer that the Lord will provide in these transactions.  In line with that I do have some areas online I am trying to generate some additional income in addition to what my day job brings in.  If you are interested in seeing it please PM me.  All I ask is for prayer and possibly to share what I have going on.

Thank you.

Hi Brother Knotical, I continue in prayer for you. With the amount of difficulties overcome this far into your relocation, and continued employment I have no doubt of God's leading in it all. He will not fail you now.

Blessings in Christ Jesus.

God bless,

Still marching toward the closing date on the house.  Trying to pull a loan out of my 401k to cover the cash at closing.  Hopefully, the loan I requested will fund within the next couple days.  We were able to get our realtor to move the closing date back a week, so we do have a little bit of additional time.  Just pray that everything goes smoothly with the funding of our 401k loan so we have the cash needed for closing.

You have my prayers . All will turn out well for you ,and prayer DOSE  work.  The most important thing is to leave it ALL in the hands of God . " Cast thy burden upon the Lord and He shall sustain thee . He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." Ps.55:22 . Matt
