.... an orthodox (true and correct when contrasted with Liberal theology) Protestant forum whose members espouse the Apostolic doctrines in the Biblical theologies set forth by Augustine, Martin Luther, Ulrich Zwingli, John Calvin and John Knox etc. We do not "argue" with nor do we solicit the membership of people who espouse secular or cultic ideologies. We believe that our conversations are to be faith building and posts that advance heretical or apostate thinking will be immediately deleted and the poster permanently banned from the forum. This is a Christian Protestant community for people to explore the traditional theologies of Classical Protestantism.

Christian Fellowship

John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Romans 7

Recommended Posts

In leau of the subject of nature's we have been discussing, I believe Romans 7 to be the most eye opening book in the bible.

Prerequisites to understanding Romans 7; I would point out that the believer also must keep in mind when studying Romans 7, that from the onset of creation you're Father's desire has been to have a nature to nature, face to face, one to one, relationship with His very own offspring.

This means there is a birthing relationship because nature only comes through a birthing.

Confirmation of this is: Hebrews 1:5

5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

The last line declares and describes a nature to nature, face to face relationship.

I will be to him/her a Father, and he/she shall be to me a son/daughter.

Also look at John 3:6

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Ok with that in mind turn your bibles to Romans chapter 7 and read the first few verses.

It is quite obvious that a union was brought about by Adam sin.

That union was between the woman (soul-mind) and the husband (sin-nature), the scriptures call it a marriage.

Paul uses the law to show there is no change in the marriage relationship without a death.

If there was a death, the death of the old man (sin-nature) in this case, she (soul-mind) was free to marry another, even Christ.

It should be pointed out that a physical death did not separate the two.

It took a very special death to bring about the death and dissolve this Union, to Bringing about a brand new marriage Union Oneness nature to nature relationship.

So the old man is Dead, As Dead As Christ was dead on the cross.

So what is happening in the rest of Romans now Paul is describing the woman (soul mind) still dealing with the spooks of the past marriage relationship.

Many have dissected the book of Romans and many wonderful thoughts have come about, but the fact of the matter is Paul starts out telling us how to read the entire book of Romans 7.
