John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

One question no atheist can answer

Recommended Posts

Science itself proves that man is a hybrid, body and soul, but to avoid religious terms I will say body (physical) and person (spiritual)

science due to the 5 senses proves the body is knowable by these senses and that the body changes, but the person is not knowable by the 5 senses and does not change, I am the same person all my life! Therefire man is a hybrid! The source of the body is the natural conception of man and woman! WHAT is the source of your person???

It's not physical so it must be spiritual! Since you did not exist at one time, the only logical conclusion is that you were created, therefore there must be a creator!

Post # 1 -- yes, there must be a creator -- God 'did it'.

The brain is like a piano, it requires a player (spirit). This is something that secular neruo scientists discovered no less, so there is no bias whatsoever, pure science.

I like how you say "atheists" can not answer when in fact it is science that can not answer.

The atheist has no burden to answer anything. Yet somehow, the believer can not comprehend such a concept.

There need not be a creator to logically conclude that we exist. Self awareness should be understood to be the product of time. Reality as we perceive it consists of spacetime. Though consciousness is not fully understood, we know enough to understand that "being" is also a product of spacetime and required for us to exist.
