Christian Fellowship

John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

That date is no more likely than any other date. Only the LORD knows.

Oh well, only three days before another end-of the-worlder is looking completely stupid.

Don't they ever learn their lesson?

Here is hoping they are right.

I would like to see Jesus return before I need to teach my daughter to drive or she starts dating. :)

[... but I don't think I'll quit my job in expectation.]

According to my calculations it was yesterday. We've been left behind. .

We joke about such predictions being made -- but Jesus Christ Will return at Some point in the future. If I'm remembering what I read correctly -- the article says that the rapture will Begin to take place at that specified time. According to Scripture it takes place in an instant. Everyone will be aware of Something taking place and it will be over. It's not like people will have time realize that '"hey, it's actually taking place, I'll take this moment to repent and accept Him and I'll be fine"

In my lifetime I've not been aware of any predictions except those in the past that didn't take place. So "this" coming prediction is new for me. Anticipating a future event that Scripture tells us Will happen --and someone says it will happen at a specific day - very soon. And, yes, the scoffers will be coming 'out of the woodwork' saying "we Told you so, when will you guys ever learn that it Won't happen, Period" that's from another forum I'm on.

There's a small group at church that gets together on Wedn evenings. That will be tonight. It will be interesting to find out who in the group has heard this particular prediction. And our church is also in process of building a new church and the 1st walk through is scheduled for Sunday evening. We're all anticipating that event.
