John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Anne Graham Lotz, the Eclipse and Repentance

Recommended Posts

Open Doors USA shared this article on their Facebook page yesterday.

I'm sure Ann Graham Lotz is far from the only one who is saying things like this. I am skeptical, not because I don't think we are in the "last days", but because there are countless people today who are claiming to have a revelation or "word" from God. I believe we must remain vigilant and seek discernment.

Here's the link to the article written by Ann Graham Lotz, and referenced in the above article.

I believe we are in the last days that America faces judgment if we do not repent, but I doubt if the eclipse has anything to do with either of those things. It is just an event that occurs periodically because of the way the universe is set up.

Agreed. Although there is reason to believe that there will be "signs in the heavens", I think that most of the so called "prophecies" being put forth in Christendom today are not at all accurate. Many of these "prophecies" are the direct result of taking OT Scripture out of context and applying to the Church what was meant for Israel at a specific time and place.
