John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Pope Francis Declares All Cats Christians At Vatican Summit

Recommended Posts

VATICAN CITY—In a sweeping statement Tuesday, Pope Francis announced his belief that all cats across the world are Christians. Although pundits frequently acknowledge the Pope’s progressive policies, Catholic scholars are calling this a “truly unprecedented” move. “A Pope hasn’t made a declaration like this since Pope Alexander VI issued a Papal Bull against Llamas in 1493,” noted

Funny, according to Catholics, or at least the pope, atheist and dogs go to heaven, but no, not us Protestants.

lol Actually, that's not true...the RCC doesn't teach (anymore) that only Catholics are saved. But...we may end up in purgatory!

This is one of the least strange things Pope Frances has ever said. :)

I have never thought about that. What about other animals? I do believe that they are all God's creation without differentiating whether they are Muslims or Christians. What did the Pope mean? Is it that they should only be kept by Christians or only Christians can determine how they should be kept. I think that he was just joking out of his remarks.

Has anyone found ANY corroboration of this claim?

It's a spoof! Get a grip.
