    Hello everyone! Another newbie.

Yes, let’s look at what Jesus says about the “kingdom of God”. The Jews were hoping for a Messiah that would come and overthrow the Roman empire in their time, and set up a physical kingdom to free them in the physical realm, you can see that in many verses. And you’re right, Jesus points out in Luke 17:20-21 that His kingdom is a spiritual one until the coming “Day of the LORD”, and also in John 18:36. Now check out Romans 14:8-11; in the kingdom of God, Jesus Christ is always Lord of all, seated at the right hand of the Father, and it’s all over the Bible. “For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, “As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”” So may I challenge you to really consider; this astral “Jesus” and these celestial beings, when they contact you, are they really exalting Jesus Christ as He is described in the bible, or are they encouraging you to find salvation in yourself or encouraging you to revere them instead? Because that is the real test. 1 John 4:1-3 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.” John the Baptist called people to repentance from their sins so they could enter the “kingdom of heaven”, when they then trusted in Jesus Christ’s death on the cross as payment for their sins (Matthew 3:1-2). And this is the message that Paul preached, that caused many who were contacting spirits in Acts 19:17-19, to recognize what they were involved in, and burn their divination books in repentance and turn to the real Jesus Christ. “And this became known to all the residents of Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks. And fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was extolled. Also many of those who were now believers came, confessing and divulging their practices. And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all.” Sending this friend, with a prayer that in the name of Jesus Christ, you will be set free from these celestial beings and then repent and turn from reiki and place all your faith and trust in the Lord of all, Jesus Christ, the only true Son of God. With love.

    What can we improve upon?

I'm really enjoying the fellowship here. I'm sure we could all (myself included) work more on making sure our words are communicating humility and kindness, "speaking the truth in love". But overall I've felt very welcomed and appreciate that there is a general desire to keep on track; discussing the Bible and faith in Christ. Thank you, again for accepting my request to join! :) :)

    Hello everyone! Another newbie.

It's hard when tone of voice, facial expressions and body language cannot be sensed to soften, but I can at least say on my part, there is no anger here, only concern as David said. Do you have a bible?

    New member from UK here...

Hi, welcome! :) That's good! Your bible is the best place to start. It will show you that we are all sinners heading for God's just wrath, but in His mercy He sent His Son to die for us. And we must repent from our sins and turn and place all our trust and faith in Jesus Christ alone. If you've done that, then you will receive the Holy Spirit who will help you understand your bible. Then armed with what the bible says is true, you can use it as a test to examine what a church is teaching. Be careful, there is a LOT of false teaching out there and a lot of false converts, that will try to throw you off. Will pray for you!

    Hello everyone! Another newbie.

Truthsayer, sadly you have been deceived by fallen angels, appearing as "angels of light". You are in grave danger. Get a bible and read the truth about how these demons operate, then repent from this practice and turn to the true Jesus, as He is clearly described ONLY in the bible. I will be praying for you!

What does God's voice sound like?

I think we also have to be EXTREMELY cautious because the Devil and the fallen angels are adept at sounding like they are gods or God's voice, that's why everything has to be tested by the Word. 1 John 4:1 "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."

What does God's voice sound like?

Actually, that would be a wonderful study! Go through a bible search and find all the many passages that talk about God's voice and make a list of how it's described. We see here and in other verses, it always corresponds, and does not contradict, the Word of God: "When the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come." (John 16:13) He is able to speak in a loud thundering voice: Psalm 29:3-9 "The voice of the LORD is upon the waters; The God of glory thunders, The LORD is over many waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful, The voice of the LORD is majestic. The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; Yes, the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon." But sometimes He speaks in a still, quiet voice: "And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper." In 1 Thess. 4 we see that He sometimes uses the angels as His mouthpiece and it can sound like a trumpet: "For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. ..." and so many more. Our God is amazing.

    Bible promises

Praying for you, Rachel, as you grieve. Believe me, I understand anguish and have my days where I question what the Lord is doing. Looking at the scriptures you listed, remember first to read them with the intended original audience in mind. This helps with understanding their meaning. The Old Testament was mainly written to Israel, and they as a people, have suffered many trials but they understood that there was a future promised Messiah. For example: Psalm 84:6 "As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs;" It's illustrating a principle, if you're truly seeking God, not easy circumstances, He can turn a barren valley into a valley of springs, in a spiritual sense. I'd encourage you to look at Mark 10:17-31 where Jesus gets to the heart of the issue, as He always does. (I Samuel 16:7) In Mark 10 the man who is rich in material things asks Jesus what he must do to get eternal life. He says he has obeyed all the commandments, but Jesus pinpoints the problem. The man was focused on this world, and when Jesus challenged him at the heart of his materialism, (I'm not saying that you are being materialistic, necessarily in wanting to acquire wealth) but the principle still applies. He was focused on prosperity in THIS world and Jesus wants Him to give it up and follow Him, for the real "treasure": the kingdom of God. Sadly Israel, as a whole, did what our fallen sin nature tends to do. When their Messiah came, Jesus "Yeshua", they were looking for a material kingdom, a "NOW" kingdom and so they missed the eternal one in Christ, who will establish His future kingdom on earth. (Isaiah 53) There is a point to which we all must come in suffering, as Job did, where we just have to admit that we are not God and we just cannot understand all He is doing. Let Him be God. He can see it all, from beginning to end, and outside of time, and He knows best. It is hard to accept, but if you can accept it in faith, through the Holy Spirit, if you are in Christ, then it brings great peace. You can let go of figuring it all out, like I am myself, trying to do. <3

    Bible promises

It sounds like you may have already made up your mind. I am sorry for your pain, I have suffered great injustice, abuse, trauma, as well. But the whole concept of Christianity is life, health, and prosperity in the hereafter for undeserving sinners. If you truly want the answer, keep reading your bible and praying that the Holy Spirit will show you the awesome truth. There is a purpose to our suffering if we are truly in Christ. Without having a repentant heart that grieves over sin, more than anything, and placing all our faith in Christ, we miss the grand scheme behind this seen world. I will be praying to that end for you and post some verses after I get up. I just woke up. Lol :)
