    Is that The Holy Spirit?

How can we tell if a man is of God? I asked Jesus this and the answer I got after awhile was that if a person is of God they won't want anything from you but will want to give you help. They'll not want you to give them anything. I know by your post that you are a denominational disciple. Are you aware that denying the gifts that God had provided for ministry among His people is no different from those that use God's word wrongly? I know that you have not been baptized in the Holy Spirit and that you have been taught that God no longer does these things. Also that if you cannot explain something by reason that it must not be if God. I feel no anger here my friend at all only frustration. Jesus saved me outside of church walls (see Ezekiel chapter 34). I thank my God I was not taught all the things my heavenly father no longer does. Married 14 years and no children. Medically impossible. Jesus promised us a son and sent him. Only God makes life. How do I know the things I've experienced are from God? Like the apostles I can only speak the things I seen and heard. None of the things ever happened in the 33 years I was unsaved. The devil NEVER did anything good to me! The thief comes to kill, steal and destroy. Jesus comes to give me abundant life. The people from churches that came to me NEVER ever told me about the love of God and His forgiveness. Just "COME TO OUR CHURCH". Jesus loved me enough to rescue me, save me, baptize me in His Holy Spirit. I probably shouldn't have replied to you but feel empathy for you because God has been so limited in your experience. What if you looked at the Bible as if everything in it were true? All of it. All for today. Who told you that God got out of the miracle business? If you think we no longer need miracles take a stroll through the hospitals, nursing homes. The gifts of the spirit, the great commission of Mark. Mark 16:15-18 KJVS And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. [16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. [17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. I've walked with the Lord for 40 years seeing His hand in our life and the lives of others. I've seen churches in America grow cold and dead. They deny more and more even the preaching of the blood and cross of Jesus. They deny that God continues to do all the things He did on the day of Pentecost. I too want nothing from any man but to admonish them to believe the Bible over denominational traditions.

    Please pray for me

Dear Jonah: I know nothing about you but this. Jesus is God's first name and He can right anything. If you are not a true believer in Him then I pray you turn to Him with all your heart. He will renew you and give you the mind of christ. For God has not given you a spirit of fear but of power and of love and a sound mind. Seek Him with your whole heart. Others may pray but only you can decide to trust Him.

    What's bad about good news?

Justme I'm glad that God healed you. That's wonderful news. It's indescribable when He touches you and heals you. He called me out in a service about 38 years ago through a prophet and healed me of heart trouble. I'd been having terrible pains. The symptoms would come back but I just stood on the faith from the healing He sent. Pains would come and I told the enemy that he had my permission to kill me if he could get past God's healing word to me and past the name and the blood of Jesus Christ. Thanks be to God for our healing. Amen bother

    People who can see demons

When you are saved you are born of the spirit but not filled with the Holy Spirit. Those in acts 19 were already believers when they came to Paul. Note ; Acts 19:2 KJVS He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. They believed already, Paul separated the two distinct events in this verse with the obvious dividing word SINCE. God CAN baptize you with the Holy Spirit right after being saved like those mentioned or it can take place later. It is always evidenced with the gift of tongues. Always. There are many components to the gift of tongues. There are many scriptures in the old testament regarding this gift. The believers in acts chapter 2 had not previously received the Holy Spirit. Two separate events. Denominational religion has long erroneously taught that; 1. You get all of the Holy Spirit when you are saved. 2. This is not for today. 3.it is of the devil 4. There are no gifts of the Spirit today. 5.tongues are of the devil. There are so many components of the baptism of the Holy Spirit that are unknown to denominational believers. I have walked with the Lord Jesus Christ for 40 years. He saved me outside of denominational walls and thank God for all that prayed for me to be saved. After He convicted and saved me in the fall of 1977 He baptized me in the Holy Spirit a few weeks later and gave me the gift of tongues. I didn't realize what had happened until I researched the Scriptures. The old and new testament have many scriptures directly pertaining to this event and gifts thereof. I was told by unbelieving church goers that this was not from God etc. Such ashame that the word of God on this is rejected and often perverted. The gifts and calling of God are without recall.

    What's bad about good news?

Not a thing! Nothing at all! Several weeks ago the Holy Spirit told me very plainly as I lay on the couch "ALL WILL BE WELL". There are many things we've been praying about and I knew this was covering them all. A fear not. About a two weeks ago I got a call from the doctors office telling me the results of my last lab work showed my kidneys were functioning at a "low, level". This tried to unsettle me but: Psalms 112:7 (NKJV) He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. I've worn this scripture to a nub in the past 40 years. I was told to drink plenty of liquids and come back on the 8th to draw blood for lab work to check. I started drinking more water and some Cranberry juice which is a kidney friendly liquid. I do not drink any Cokes/carbonated drinks and just a little coffee some tea, mostly water. The clinic called back this morning and reported "everything looks OK"! Am I rejoicing? You better believe it. I was never afraid and am indescribably thankful to Jesus for hearing our prayers...and giving me an answer of peace. All will be well and I praise God for it! He gave me news of His deliverance before I even needed it. I wanted to give Him the glory He so truly deserves. I've got a book full of deliverances the Lord has worked just in our family. How much in all the earth? As the Scriptures says the world couldn't contain the books that could be written of his deeds! Early this morning way before daylight I stepped outside and was praising God. It was cool and clear and a lone cricket chirped. As I worshipped the Lord He showed me a brief image in the spirit of a flowing river and next to it an extension cord with a plug on the end. He said "just stay plugged in son"! The river was His grace flowing eternally from His throne. Everything that God provides. we stay plugged in by praise and worship. By maintaining a right and repentant, thankful true heart before him we never lack the abundant peace that ever flows by us. It can flow right by us but we must be plugged in to receive of it. With his assistance, the Holy Spirit come to me by promise, I desire never to be unplugged again from all He has and and all He is. As brother Paul has written, to know Him and the power of His resurrection. No plug ins but to be hard wired to the flow! Amen

    The Jaws of hell

Luke 16:20-31 (NKJV) 20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.' 25 But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.' 27 Then he said, 'I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.' 29 Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.' 30 And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' 31 But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.' " Jesus gave us a peek into eternal separation from God. Let us rejoice who have escaped the wrath to come.

    People who can see demons

I don't see any mention of the Holy Spirit here friends. Until you are baptized in the Holy Spirit you don't have the power to deal with devils. Acts chapter 19 is a Good primer. First get equipped then deal with the enemy. Mark 16:12, 17-18 (NKJV) 12 After that, He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Jesus did no ministry until the Holy Spirit filled Him. Neither can we.

Are ghosts and spirits for real?

The swine perished but you cannot drown a demon. They went looking for a house swept and garnished, i.e. Unfilled with God. They make bad neighbors and worse tenants.
  10. Homosexuality is straight out of hell. It's the most base sin the devil could come up with. A blind evangelist came to speak at our church. He went onto a stage at a Sodomite rally and told a huge crowd of them what God says about their sin. They beat him and he was blinded for telling what the Bible says. If anyone believes that Sodomites are gentle they are not. That evil spirit that controls them is very violent. It's the devil.

    On hearing God's voice

If you are a Christian you can hear God. Especially if you have been baptized in the Holy Spirit. (I doknow that you haven't experienced this) Once we were driving and I started to pass a car. I pulled out and then for some unknown reason decided not to pass. A few miles on farther a truck flew out of a side road and hit the car I was going to pass. It would have been us if I'd passed that car. They weren't hurt thankfully. Later we found out my wife was pregnant with our son. We'd been married 14 years and couldn't have children. God told us He was sending us a son. He spoke with His still small voice, through dreams, through prophets. As you get deeper into Jesus, that's God's first name, He will teach and show you many things. God does things even if we don't hear a word or a voice. The unbeliever is at risk for God will always set His hedge of protection around a believer. He is unlimited in ways He speaks. We have no idea how many times He has saved all of us from death or injury. Our 15 year old daughter was killed by a drinking driver. We grieve but have to believe that He ALWAYS does the best thing for us. Isaiah 57:1 KJVS The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come . I see you are seeking God intently. That's wonderful! Examine acts the 19th chapter and the believers there who were afterwards filled with the Holy Spirit. Since Jesus came to our rural place 40 years ago and saved me then baptized me in the Holy Spirit our life has received many miracles from His hand. It's the most exciting adventure you can go on. Doing exploits with Jesus. Daniel 11:32 KJVS And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits . The wisest men and women still seek Him..

    Demonic experience

With all due respect time must be spent in the word of God and not other writings. Especially for new believers uncertain about many things. All you will ever need to know is there. Reading the Bible combined with prayer in a quiet place will open the door for the Holy Spirit to instruct you in all things. First comes the Bible, everything else is not critical. Everything you will ever need is there.

Are ghosts and spirits for real?

Those demons Jesus cast into the swine didn't just disappear. They're still around. We have dominion over them if we are filled with the Holy Spirit. We fight not against flesh and blood but against spiritual entities, wicked powers in the spiritual realm. Stay filled with the Holy Spirit.

    Three chariots of praise

Thanks for your kind reply. The point here of course is that if we will offer the sacrifice of praise in our adverse circumstances that God will step into our situation and deliver us. Time and again I have seen Jesus move on my behalf and all thanks and praise is to Him. Best regards, in Jesus' name Frank Lee Jennings

    Three chariots of praise

It was about forty miles from home to my place of work in those days. Living in the country is great but there's a drive if you have a city job. Mine was as an industrial designer in Little Rock. I was driving in one morning when my car blew a fan belt causing it to quickly overheat. Nothing to do but pull over. I was still many miles from work and without a cell phone had no access to help. It had been a long time since I tried to hitch hike but it was my only option. After all I was nice and clean cut, standing by what was obviously my vehicle. Why drivers would be lining up to give this fine fellow a much needed lift! Wrong. After many minutes and hundreds of commuters zipping by not one had even slowed down. To me it looked like they sped up when they saw my arm with an extended thumb on it. Resigning myself I headed north and began walking. I said aloud "OK Lord, I'm going to walk to work and praise you the whole way". As I began my forced march I began to sing a praise song. It wasn't hard. I hadn't walked thirty feet when I heard behind me the sound of tires hitting the shoulder of the highway. Turning I saw that it was a pickup and so walked over and opened the door. The driver asked if I needed a ride so I hopped in and said "praise the Lord"! To which he replied "are you a Christian"? After I answered yes he said "I never pick up anyone on the road but when I saw you I just found myself pulling over"! We talked a bit about Jesus as we rode then he had to let me out at the exit I needed to take. I felt an excitement about this mini-adventure and knew that Jesus was showing me something simple but oh so important. The lesson can be found in the fiftieth Psalm. Psa 50:14 — Psa 50:15 (NKJV) Offer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High. Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” God was going to deliver me through the power of praise! I was going to praise myself to work! As I began to walk, praise and sing to God once more, I hadn't taken ten steps when again the sound of tires behind me told me my ride had arrived! Getting in and thanking the young man for stopping, we then conversed back and forth while we continued our northward journey. I turned the talk to Jesus and found that this fellow was a backslidden believer. He seemed genuinely touched by my ministry to him and expressed a desire to start coming to church again. The meeting was no accident and our heavenly appointment maker knew our schedules. He let me out at my next exit several miles from where we started and so I was afoot once more. Beginning to sing praises one more time as I walked up the exit ramp, the now familiar tires on asphalt sound turned me around. The sight of my next divinely ordered ride was really emphasizing the Lord's lesson for me. Certainly there was no coincidence in the arrival of those much appreciated heavenly chariots. This last ride placed me across the street from my office and as with the other two lifts I shared Jesus with the driver. The Lord had given me three rides and taken me many miles to my destination. I had walked a total of perhaps forty feet and had gotten to share Jesus with three men. A pretty good outcome for a stranded traveller. Praising the Lord out of a fix. Not a bad way to travel! Truly these were three chariots of praise. The principal of praising God for our deliverance is wonderful! The Bible is filled with such accounts like Paul and Silas praising their way out of prison. King Jehosaphat also used this to deliver the entire nation. 2 Chronicles 20:21-22 KJVS And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord , and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord ; for his mercy endureth for ever. [22] And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. Psalms 50:23 (NKJV) Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.” Psa 107:30 — Psa 107:31 (NKJV) Then they are glad because they are quiet; So He guides them to their desired haven. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! This must be our way of life, not some kind of formula for deliverance. God is worthy of our highest praise and worship even if He never came to help us. Watchman Nee was last heard by a fellow prisoner in a Chinese communist prison as Nee sang Psalms and worshipped God in his cell. That he died praising God is not a bad epitaph.
