    Just Mike needs you prayers

I am going to go out on a limb and guess that asking someone how they are traveling may be an Australian way of asking how they are doing. How is that guess, @Matto?
  2. Rosaria Butterfield argues in this article that if Christians are to live out the Christian life in a compelling way, "we must think of our homes as hospitals, embassies, and incubators, not castles, fortresses, or museums." What she proposes is not natural for me, I don't do hospitality, at least not well. But I think her writing rings true. I feel the pull of what she says, but it sure looks like a sacrifice. What do you all think? https://www.desiringgod.org/articles/the-best-weapon-is-an-open-door
  3. Perhaps I am missing it, but since the site change I can't find the listing of "Today's Posts" that I used to like to browse. Is it still there but in a different place? Please direct me. Thanks!

Hi @William, I am getting a notice that says my content has to be reviewed by a moderator. Is this the case until some number of posts are reached?
  6. Hey I forgot to mention that the April issue of the Themelios journal was released last week. I haven't had a chance to dig into it yet, but it is usually pretty good. Two things, well actually three things I like about this journal are: 1) It is Conservative; 2) It's not too technical (so I can understand it); and 3) It's free! http://themelios.thegospelcoalition.org/

    Baptist Church and Freemasonry

I feel the pain on this one. I have no good conservative Bible-believing Baptist church near me, so I attend a good Wesleyan church. Even though I don't share all their doctrinal distinctives, they are a good conservative evangelical church and it is most important to gather with the body of Christ each Sunday, hear the preached word and fellowship.

I had them in mind when I wrote my comment!
  9. I wish. But I am not holding my breath!

    Baptist Church and Freemasonry

Hi @JoeyH, as a person who identifies as Baptist I have to say that I think Freemasonry is not compatible with Christianity. To the extent one is involved in Freemasonry (or other similar secret societies) I think it indicates one is not really understanding and committed to the tenets of Christianity. As regards Baptist churches accepting Masons, one of the things Baptist churches have in common is a large degree of independence. I think any group can call themselves a Baptist church, no matter how crazy they are. There are a great many good ones, I'm sure the majority are, but we have a few that are not so good.

Hi @Pillar, Like @Sue D., I would like to know how you can know this. Recent discoveries do indicate there are many exoplanets, but so far as I know, none have yet been discovered that have similar qualities to Earth. I believe that Earth was specially prepared by God to be a home for us, and I believe if there are any other planets that harbor life, it is only because God intervened to make it so. My opinion is that it is possible for there to be life beyond Earth but it is not likely. I think chances are overwhelming that we're it.

    Just Mike needs you prayers

Hi, @Just Mike, I will remember to pray for you and your wife as you navigate the days ahead. Pray for wisdom, brother, and I will also pray God will grant you wisdom as you plan your course.

Well said Becky. I like how Acts 4:11-2 (KJV) puts it: "This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

  15. Hi @William, I figured out the news service I was thinking of, it is SRN News, the Salem Radio Network News. They have a bunch of RSS feeds here: https://www.srnnews.com/rss-feeds/
