  1. Here are all those smiles your looking for @Winken. That video made me laugh and the sad part is I know a few people like that, that no matter what is said or done they are unhappy or offended by it. Now we need one on Safe Places. LOL. Thanks for sharing William.
  2. Whenever life gets me a little moody or depressed I go out in my backyard and find solace in my garden. Whether I am pulling weeds or picking fruit a peacefulness surrounds me. Birds fly and chirp their favorite song and butterflies land on wildflowers, in many forms and colors. I can spend hours working or sitting on my back porch drinking in the sights of nature. A part of God's creation grows green and bright and the worries of the world fade away.. I love walking around my yard and finding the new arrivals that were planted by birds and the wind and that grow to brighten my day and provide me with a bit of food. Like wild strawberries and grapes, and wild raspberries. Do any of you love gardening in some form or fashion? Do you have a yard or live near a garden spot, forest or park? Does being outdoors and enjoying this bit of paradise improve your spirits and your mood? If so please share your feelings and thoughts on this subject.

Only Mass Deportation Can Save America

Sometimes it is hard to see the differences in those who are legal and illegal with all this protesting for rights and higher wages. Most of the rights these people are fighting for are rights that legal American's all ready have, but if your in the United States illegally you don't deserve anything, nor have the right to protest or vote. If you don't like the rules of our country then go home. Most American's accept and follow the rules and those that don't are held accountable for their actions. I agree with Sue D., to a point about those who came here as babies by parents looking for a better life. But most have know they were illegal and most could have applied for citizenship. But now we see how they brag about getting free education, housing, food stamps, healthcare, and still want more free things at the american citizens expense. We are broke as a nation after trying for years to help others without getting any help back. I don't see how we can afford to keep piling in more people who don't love this country and what we stand for. Maybe somehow we will come to peaceful agreements and survive this war of mixed feelings and illegal actions.
  4. I was jumping for joy that Trump got us out of that bad deal. However, I am sure Al Gore, is not to pleased as he was making lots of money on new light bulbs. I think some things are needed to clean up the planet but that follows along the lines of cleaning up pollution and maintaining clean air and water. But one country can not clean another's continuing garbage. I have heard of the floating mounds of melted plastic from electronics in our oceans, the discarded pop can plastic holders and fishing line and nets, cans and bottles, containers and tires, the list goes on. Just doing recycling helps clean up communities. Improvements in cars has lowered the carbon monoxide which is a an odorless very poisonous gas that is a product of incomplete combustion of carbon. Not carbon dioxide which is a process called “photosynthesis,” plants use the energy in sunlight to convert CO2 and water to sugar and oxygen. The plants use the sugar for food—food that we use, too, when we eat plants or animals that have eaten plants — and they release the oxygen into the atmosphere. A very needed process to keep us all alive. Composting and gardening, growing trees and plants, etc.. help clean air and water. Pollution is the enemy, but climate change is set by God, not man-made or controlled by man. Does it not say in the Bible, that in the last days (years....) that weather and land mass changes would happen and this is do to man-kind's turning it's back on God. Correct me if I am wrong.

    Is Honesty Dead?

Influencing of children and teens, and young adults seems to come in many forms, as in schooling and peer pressure, and video games. Where I work we have computers for use by the public and many children use these computers to play games. Most play the harmless ones but this week I was shocked to witness a video game one young eight year old was playing. I don't know the name of the game but it included a man who had super powers for brief periods of time and so used his gift in the most stupid ways. This game of which young boys are copying in the streets, videos on utube, of trying to jump over moving cars is shown in the video as the man jumps cars and hits his head on the pavement leaving blood stains. He then drives his car over a cliff with no ill effects and lastly when police try to stop him he attacks and kills them and blood runs in the street. The child thought it was all so funny and told me he thought all police were evil and should die. I told him that was not true and he should not watch or play that video that it was sicking and bad influence and just plain wrong. He continued playing the game so I told my boss and she put a stop to it. This game is like the old roadrunner and coyote cartoons where coyote jumped or fell off cliffs or was blow up and yet survived over and over again. The difference being was our parents told was it was not real and to do such things would be dangerous and most likely fatal. And so it is with the millenials where they have been taught fake history and listened to people who have profited by American capitalism and yet teach hatred of our country and way of life. I would suggest anyone who believes that socialism or communism is better to go live in one of those government controlled countries and see how people are really treated before saying that american freedoms and way of life are so very wrong.
  6. This topic is a two edged sword, as one lays claim to a better way of dealing with healthcare and another to the direction that charity should go and just how to manage them both at a affordable level. Should everyone have healthcare? I believe everyone should have access to healthcare and each person should make an honest attempt to cover their costs. Should everyone buy health insurance? Yes, if they can afford to do so which is often the very thing that keeps some people from the very thing they need. I have had insurance and then gone though periods in my life without health insurance do to lack of enough income, but I always made a attempt to pay off my bills even if it took years at $10 a month. Accountability is sorely needed and there is no such thing as free healthcare. Someone is paying the bills through tax payer dollars. Even in Canada, the people pay for their heath care system through higher taxes and services, and goods. Charity, as the older folks used to say begins at home. If each person did an act of kindness everyday or paid it forward, there would be much less starvation and loss of life, and homelessness. The money in the offering plates at churches used to do this needy service, providing access to healthcare and housing the homeless and feeding and clothing the poor. Many organizations provided food and clothing to the needy before the government stepped in. Many churches still send missionaries around the world to spread the good news and help families with food, clothing and shelter. But as more and more of these common place charities were replaced by the government monies, these places often found other ways to spend their donated money. Bigger and fancier churches and a change in some hearts, and often many church's have had to close their doors do to lack of funds or attendance. Just some random thoughts throw out there. What do you think is the best approach to both of these topic's??

    Is Honesty Dead?

When I was growing up in the 60's, the most important things my parents instilled in me was love of God and His teachings, as well as, being honest and trustworthy, and accountable for my actions. Yet in today's climate of demands and rights, that really remove other peoples rights, it has become not just conflicts with ones self, but major battles against evil doers of whom never seem to be held accountable for anything. Our governments are filled with corruption and it trickles down into local affairs that affect young adults, warping their minds and hearts turning them away from God. It is like the flip side of a coin where communism is deemed good and good is deemed bad. If there is climate change to fight against then this is it. How can Christians fight back against this growing tide that is threatening countries all over the world? Proclaiming Christ and praying constantly are buffers against the wind and while seeming to slow down or stop the tide in some areas, but other areas see no relief where Christians are being raped and beaten, and murdered on a daily if not hourly basis. I see in our new president Trump, a man who holds God in his heart and also someone who is being hammered at every turn and yet somehow is still standing firm. Is this our Armageddon? Is the over seas final destructive battle being played out now? Is Christ coming back soon? Please share your thoughts on this subject both personal and through God's Word, as stated in the Bible.

    Transgender

I find this whole concept confusing and wonder also why their seems to be an explosion of more and more young people wanting to become transgender or just state a gender different from their biological born sex. It seems to be the lastest rage more of a way to attract attention and be noticed then to have a real purpose. YouTube is filled with young adults and children thinking that choosing to be transgender is as simple as wearing a dress or a hoodie and jeans. Many people take hormones of the other gender to stop normal body functions and ruin natural body imagine, and sometimes alter their bodies in ways non-reversible and end up more unhappy then they were before creating so many changes. It scares me to think what this is doing to our younger generation and how it is being pushed in our faces like it is completely normal and if you disagree then your in the wrong in your faith and Bible based belief. I would hope that counseling might help these people by weighting out the effects and changes and hoping that they would be extra careful before leaping into a completely different lifestyle. It seems that the devil has taken root and the wave of this is so strong it will take the Lord's armies of angels to defeat it.

    Hello From Pennsylvania

I live up in the mountains of western Pennsylvania. I was born and raised in rural small towns and I enjoy the mountains and rivers, and even the snow. I spend about 25 years in Florida, and hated the climate the whole time I was there. Lots of folks said to me this is your home and I would say no this is where I live my home is in Pennsylvania. :) Thank you for the warm welcome I look forward to chatting with you.
