"Saved from what" -- from having to spend eternity in hell. Accepting Jesus Christ as personal Savior allows people to be in heaven. No other place To go. No good works on our part will be good enough to get us into heaven.

Amen Be not conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of your mind Roman 12:2

About works we are all unprofitable servants. We do only what is our reasonable service

We are told that God Does have work for us believers to do for Him -- otherwise we'd be taken to heaven as soon as we've accepted Him. But it's something that's After salvation -- as a result Of that we have the inner desire To want to please Him. It won't / shouldn't feel like a drudgery.

When talking about salvation, we should always be aware that it is past, present and future, all at once. As it is divine, it is a reflection of divinity itself, which is past, present and future all at once.

In the past, it refers to the promise fulfilled of justication and adoption.
In the present, it refers to the embracing of the new nature and the shedding of the old, which is accomplished by working out our salvation.
In the future, it refers to the receiving of the inheritance, of which Christians are "heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together" (Rom. 8: 17).

The three are one, and the one is three. It must be recalled always that salvation is something divine, not human; but humans can trample on it, and forfeit Christ's inheritance, just by trying to seize Christ's inheritance for themselves, like the Jews did.

So the work of God is to be saved, by believing in Christ. John 6;29 “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent." Our work for God is for the purpose of expressing and lighting the power of God in this world, but God never becomes our debtor in consequence.

We are saved from entropy. When Adam sinned, entropy came into creation. Entropy is the gradual decay and destruction of all the physical universe, of which we are part and experience in aging and death. We are also saved from evil. Evil is the spark that brought entropy into the creation and is in the person of Lucifer, aka, Satan, who seeks to destroy and devour everyone he can. We are saved from the evil that infected our very being that came with the fall of mankind. The Lake of Fire is called the second death because it is the continuation of the first death. We are born spiritually dead, but are brought to spiritual life through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Jesus came to save all of His creation and to transform it into a new and glorious creation. We are not saved to live in Heaven. Heaven is a variation on the word haven, which means a safe place of harbor from the storms. We were made to live on Earth and just as we will be transformed into an immortal glorified body, so, too, will the Earth and the heavens be transformed.

But the ultimate salvation is that we become partakers of the divine nature to truly be the children of God, and not orphans or foster children adopted only into his family. We will be completely his children in truth, for we are members of the body of his one true son, Jesus Christ.

It is a glorious salvation! And the Gospel is too good to be true news that is True.

There is a lot that a person is saved To and From --- From having to spend eternity in hell -- totally forever away from God -- eternal Dark -- suffering in the Lake of Fire / brimstone. Revelation tells us that only three entities WILL be there -- for Certain. Satan, the beast and the false prophet.

Very true. I felt that the answers were too sparse and wanted to flesh it out more.

Could you explain entropy and how you are using it here. Thank you

In physics, entropy is the law that states that everything is in a state of decay and destruction. Entropy is the physical manifestation of the spiritual element we call sin. It is because of entropy that we age and die. Every seven years on average, all the cells of our body replicate themselves and replace the damaged, worn out cells that die. Cells die every day, which is why we sleep at night so the body can repair itself. This is why we feel tired by day's end and if we have a good night's sleep, we feel refreshed in the morning. As youth the spirit is also directing the transformation from infant to adult so this replacement and repair happens at both a high rate (high metabolism) and in the new form of the developing adult. However, at the age of 21, the transformation is finished, so the seven year cycle is simply replacing the dying cells. However, because of sin, the replacement is slightly off, similar to the old copy machines. Take a photo and make a copy, the copy is slightly off. Make a copy of the copy and the next copy is a little worse. Keep doing that with copies of copies and eventually the image is unrecognizable. With our bodies the slightly off replication of every seven years increases the errors in the body system. So not only does the skin not replace correctly and becomes more wrinkled, but the organs are rebuilt incorrectly ultimately resulting in organ failure and death.

This is sin/entropy in life systems. The same exists in inanimate objects. Clean your house, lock the door and shut all windows down, then leave your home for several months. When you return there is a layer of dust over everything. Where does the dust come from? The house itself as the material of the walls and fabrics are slowly disintegrating. Everything in creation is disintegrating, including the stars which are all dying.

Entropy is a real counter argument to evolution. My father was an atheist (passed away 25 years ago) and I brought this up to him after I had become a Christian. He claimed that there was thing called negative-evolution that countered entropy so evolution could continue progressing forward. I told him you cant create a theory to defend another theory, and he had no answer but a gruff dismissal of my scientific ignorance. But the reality of entropy is why Jesus will transform the current creation with a new heaven and new Earth after the millennial Kingdom.

Thank you. I would also add this thought. Entropy is the physical manifestation of sin which is a spiritual entity. The duelists believed that the spirit world was clean and holy whereas the material world is sinful and deadly. From that premise they believed that Jesus only resurrected in the spirit, not in the flesh. Orthodox faith counters this with a firm belief that Jesus was resurrected with a physical body, which is the truth. But I think this confusion persists because even today Christians hold onto the duelist premise subconsciously.

I am convinced that there is only one creation and that the spirit world and the material world are different dimensions of the one creation. The worlds are integrated as one. Sin is a spiritual error. When Adam and Eve believed the lie of Satan instead of trusting God, they died spiritually. What that means is that their spirits became sin, which was the source of our sin nature. After Jesus resurrected and left the apostles 10 days before Pentecost, he was glorified, which means his human spirit and human body were fully joined to the Eternal Spirit. For us then, who are born again, this is why the Holy Spirit was able to be joined to our human spirits. Our human spirits died with Christ and have been transformed into the same new creations that Jesus is now. Of course this is only in our human spirits. Our souls still need to be retaught which is why we are not be conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of our minds, and our bodies need to be discarded so a new one that is fully the same as Jesus in his glorified bodies when he returns.

In my opinion, Jesus is not only the seed for our new creation, but is the seed for the entire universe. When all is said and done, the new Heaven and Earth will draw its source from Jesus himself as the first fruits of the new creation. When the new Heaven and Earth are established (I also believe that the substance of this will still be from the old Heaven and Earth, since Isaiah said that the Earth shall remain forever) the manifestation of sin in the physical world, entropy, will be completely gone because the created spirit world will also be fully purged and renewed. All demons well be purged from the new creation because they will be in the lake of fire was first created for them, not us. I don't know of any change will be brought to the holy angels that never rebelled, but I suspect that there might be change their, too, to ensure that there can never be angelic rebellion again, but I don't know for sure.
