Thank you for pointing out such an important theme in the New Testament! If a similar theme or statement is repeated throughout the Bible, it is very significant. In this case, it is clear that God wants us to love one another just as he loves all of us so that we can be the light to the lost and bring them into God's kingdom!

If we could only follow these teachings but many people are aware but just will not abide. There are many factors which may have prevented people from following the path that God would have wanted them to traverse. Greed, envy, and jealousy amongst others are some of the things that drive many people to be hostile to each other and at the same time, they may ready to quote from the Bible and profess how much they believe in God. But God allows them to go against his word for now but in the end, we all have to give an account of any indiscretions that we may have made.

You are right in saying that many of us won't abide. How many of us struggle with commands such as #9, 28, 29, 50?
