Democrats are hypocrites in everything, and tyrants in everything. In 2007, the Supreme Court leaned to the Left, yet Schumer still called it out of balance (nonsensically, toward the conservative side) and called upon Democrats to block any Bush nominee. It's a Judge's job to uphold the Constitution. Obama and four Supreme Court justices have contempt for the Constitution.

Just one more Anti-Constitutionalist on the Supreme Court will give the the Left absolute control of the Supreme Court. It will no longer be an issue of an imbalance or leaning.

The article contains this statement, 'He added that he thinks the president will nominate someone who is "mainstream." ' President Obama's concept of what is mainstream might differ from that of most other people.

Hi Cornelius, you are correct. If a progressive liberal replaces Scalia, the Constitution will end up being nothing more than an historical document collecting dust, as adherence to the rule of law will be regularly replaced by the whim of the anarchists (who will no doubt choose to legislate from the bench whatever seems right in their own eyes at the moment).

We should pray that such a thing does not happen.

        Yours and His,

Hi Theophilus, that is also true, President Obama's idea of "mainstream" is far left of center, socially and economically.

Technically, I believe that the constitution gives the Legislature power to remove Justices through impeachment if they fail to perform their constitutionally mandated duties.
A Supreme Court impeachment would certainly send an interesting message from the legislature on the roles of the three branches.

The Constitution allows Congress to remove Supreme Court judges. And, the Constitution also gives Congress authority over the Supreme Court on any issue.

I haven't read the book, but I think I have the answer. Conservatives keep electing pro-war Liberals (neocons) because those Liberals are pro-war, like G. W. Bush. Republican appointments have dominated the Supreme Court for decades, but you'd never know it by many of the rulings. The majority of Congress has no interest in keeping the Supreme Court in check because the majority are not really conservatives.

We let a socialist-Liberal education system educate 99% of our students (90% of students are educated exclusively by public schools). Ted Cruz called School Choice the Civil Rights issue of our day, but I don't remember hearing a word about that in his campaign. But, I did hear something about carpet bombing the middle-east -- Ted Cruz has calculated what will give him the "conservative" vote.

I've heard about this book, has anyone read it? I don't think Democrats are hypocrites so much as they are very good at trying to control everything and oppose the Republican Party. In that respect, Democrats are good politicians even if they are very obvious about keeping they position.
