  • How is it Fair When a Male Weightlifter Competes Against Women?

The performance was stunning, as New Zealand weightlifter Laurel Hubbard absolutely smoked the competition, beating her nearest competitor, a Samoan woman, by nearly 20 kilograms. The only problem is that Laurel is a biological male, born Gavin, which is why a number of the competitors felt the competition was unfair. But of course it’s unfair. Hubbard is a male, not a female, and even after months of hormone treatments, he still has unfair advantages over the other women, who sacrificed for years to make it to this elite level, only to lose to a man. How is that right? As one woman tweeted in response to this news, “Imagine training for this your whole life, as a woman, only to have a known leader in men’s weightlifting take your title.” Source: 400 Bad Request

Sounds like cheating to me. Only politically correct and morally bankrupt morons cannot understand the difference.

So, the competing woman weightlifter finally admits to the world that, women are indeed the "weaker vessel"? I wonder if she'd complain if she won the contest against her male opponent? I don't think so. She'd gloat over, endlessly, that she defeated the male-specie counterpart.

It would be interesting to hear someone actually claim Laurel's victory was fair. Any attempt would be pretty comical .

Depends. If the woman was of a liberal viewpoint then if she won either the gender issue of her opponent would not be brought up (to show how progressive she was being), or the authorities would hail it as proof that transgender athletes should be allowed to compete as they obviously gain no advantage.

In Hubbard's case, transitioning after age 30 isn't going to get rid of the muscle already built as an adult weightlifter, the male muscle configuration that testosterone creates, or rejoint the elbow to a female configuration (wider movement range and less easy to lock). Maintaining muscle is easier than putting it on, so Hubbard definitely has an advantage. If you only look at it in terms of women's sports, the case is somewhat similar to the East German women's athletes who spent years on testosterone to build the muscle to compete then came off it so it wasn't detected. If they weren't allowed to keep competing, why is Hubbard?
Nearly 200 athletes who were given drugs prior to competing for East Germany are now seeking £8m in compensation.

Wow! Interesting information. Is this really and factually so? Hubbard, then, won fair and square in a legally transgenderized weight-lifting competition? I'm sure the board of directors had informed the women competitors that Hubbard is a homosexual transgender.

The Olympics had been allowing transgenders to compete against actual women and to make it worst they are given right to privacy. There are sports where men can be allowed to compete against women like golf or chess and scripted wrestling but Olympic sports should not allow men to compete against women as it is cheating. Transgenders should have their own division and separate Olympics.

I do not think they should get any special identity for their sinful state, but they should be recognized for the sinful people they are without privilege. The slippery slope of sexual identity is still spiraling downwards.

It is not his problem to become a transgender. Why not see ths=is victory as a victory for the transgender community rather than seeing this as male and female. Maybe the candidate should have been provided with a registering under the category of transgenders by the sports authority. Maybe this would encourage more of them to participate in sports and compete for each other.

You should read Romans 1:24-27. Celebrating such is like celebrating someone that is about to pull the trigger to a gun held up to their temple. It is spiritual suicide that leads to hell.

                    But do as you will:
                    • 24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,
                    • 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
                    • 26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;
                    • 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

The Bible nowhere explicitly mentions transgenderism or describes anyone as having transgender feelings. The closest the Bible comes to mentioning transgenderism is in its condemnations of homosexuality (Romans 1:18–32; 1 Corinthians 6:9–10) and transvestitism (Deuteronomy 22:5). The Greek word often translated “homosexual offenders” or “male prostitutes” in 1 Corinthians 6:9 literally means “effeminate men.” So, while the Bible does not directly mention transgenderism, when it mentions other instances of gender “confusion,” it clearly and explicitly identifies them as sin.

                    Revelation 22:15; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:5; 1 Timothy 1:9; Hebrews 12:14
                    • 15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
                    • 9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
                    • 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, cdivisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
                    • 5 For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

On the other hand they will never let transmen compete against men because they still have the disadvantage because they have the bone density of women.

Well i do agree with you on this one and to be honest i can not stand such hypocrisy from the even organizers, i ca understand that their motive is to ensure quality between genders and transgenders, but somethings are not meant to be, it should not be allowed for a biological male athlete to compete versus women in any sport.

Men are not allowed to hurt women but according to sports commissions and the Olympics, they are allowed as long as they identify as women. Just imagine if you have an athlete daughter who worked hard all her life only to be beaten by a transgender who says "she" is a women so she should compete against women despite of the fact "she" have the muscular built and bone density of a man. They have longer legs and bigger hands.
