  • I had a look around and couldn't find a place for a little poetry.

I looked around and couldn't find a little corner for poetry.

Anyway, I have a friend, she is 80 years old this week or next and I wrote this while thinking of a conversation I had with her on Monday after lunch.

Her face is wrinkled but her hair is luxurious,
    She talks and smiles
My eye catches the tiny deep pit below her lower lip
I listen but my eye can't move away from that tiny blemish.
    Deep voiced and beautiful.
Who would have thought that age could be so lovely?
She is going to be eighty in a few days.
    She is my friend.
    My sister in the faith.
O God of truth and Lord of power ...
Within us quench the flames of strife ...
give health of body to our life
The song slips, poorly remembered, through my mind.
It was the song I sang in morning prayer.
Will life bless me with eighty years?
O God, come to my aid, O Lord, make haste to help me.

I really like the christian poetry with images and the writings on them, and they could be artwork or photographs as well. I think either writing christian poetry or reading it can give you really great peace, and is a great way to worship and hear God. The nature photography or art landscapes with the poetry or verse is my favorite though. It really rejuvenates my soul sometimes and makes me feel better.
