Most of us on this forum believe that marriage is a union between a man and a woman and that same sex marriage is wrong. That seems perfectly clear, but the fact that some people identify with the opposite of their birth sex and some of them have their bodies surgically altered to take on the form of the sex they prefer complicates things. Suppose a man and a woman want to marry but one of them was born as a member of the other sex and has undergone a sex change operation; should they be allowed to marry or are they actually a same sex couple? The same question arises if two men or two women want to marry and one of them was originally of the opposite sex.
