Daniel 5:8-9 King James Version (KJV)

8 Then came in all the king's wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation thereof.
9 Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his lords were astonied.
    Daniel 5:8-9

CLV 8 Then going in are all the king's wise men, yet they can not read the writing nor make known its interpretation to the king." 9 Then king Belshazzar is flustering greatly and his mien is altering, while his grandees are baffled."
These are my thoughts, please share yours.

8 These wise men were a group of so called prophets who thought they got their wisdom from the gods, they were the wisest that the world had to offer. No one on the earth could understand the writing. The wisest of the earth could not figure out the meaning of the writing.

9 They writing feared him even more not knowing what it meant, it had to of meant something because of the unnormal way it came to them. No one could give the understanding of what it meant, we can not look to the world to understand the things of the Lord, we have to look to Him to understand, the world does not know Him and if they understood Him they would be following Him.

We live in a fallen world. So, yes, we cannot look at the world to gain understanding of the things of the Lord.
