  • Dan 6:6-9

Daniel 6:6-9 King James Version (KJV) 6 Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever. 7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. 8 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not. 9 Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree. The Scriptures (ISR) Daniel 6:6-9 6Then these governors and viceroys tumultuously gathered before the sovereign, and said this to him, “Sovereign Dareyawesh, live forever! 7“All the governors of the reign, the nobles and viceroys, the counsellors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal decree and to make a strong interdict, that whoever petitions any elah or man for thirty days, except you, O sovereign, is thrown into the den of lions. 8“Now, O sovereign, establish the interdict and sign the writing, so that it is not to be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not pass away.” 9So Sovereign Dareyawesh signed the written interdict. These are my thoughts, please share yours. 6 Darius was a favored king but sometimes winning favor causes us as people to develop things such as pride which causes us to lose favor with God and then sometimes with the people who favored us. 7 Daniel would have been against this but all of the other advisors to Darius were for this, this would mean that Darius would not only become a king to them but their god. The world always has desire to turn to worship anything or anyone rather then the Lord. To be throne into a den of lions is a sure death. 8 Mede and Persian law was that once the king decided something it happened which is why the time of 30 days is important because it is not a permanent decree, the king could not even change this law but it would have to be enforced once signed. They did this simply to remove Daniel. 9 So it is now law sometimes if law goes against us serving God then we are not required by God to not do the law.

"9 So it is now law sometimes if law goes against us serving God then we are not required by God to not do the law."

you may have it straight in your mind, but I don't get your point here.

Daniel had three friends stand in a furnace that was designed to melt metals, if my memory serves. Daniel served as right hand man to Nebuchadnezzar by God's choice via the revelation of the dream. Daniel proved to be a man a king or emperor can trust.

after all Daniel had been through before this law was put to effect Daniel knew exactly to circumstances he was in, and also knew the Lord his God would deliver him. The only favor that counts is God's favor. Which those who set out to destroy Daniel didn't understand.
