Apologetics may be simply defined as the defense of the Christian faith. The word "apologetics" derives from the Greek word apologia, which was originally used as a speech of defense.

The argument from contingency is another argument often misunderstood.

Atheists like to demand where God came from whenever God is offered as the cause of the universe. But, here's three reasons why their demand doesn't mean much:

    1. The video nicely addresses why it's invalid to ask "Where God came from?". Being eternal, God's existence is not contingent on anything. But, the universe is contingent upon a cause.

    2. Even if one still demands an explanation for God's existence, an explanation for God's existence is irrelevant to the proof of God's existence. You wouldn't deny the universe exists just because you didn't know where it came from.

    3. Even if one yet still demands an explanation for God's existence, just consider Him to be infinitely recursive.

I think that God is both cause and effect. It is as true to say that God creates the universe, as that the universe creates God. God has existed eternally, true. However, God is sensitive, responsive to the universe. I view God as a social-relational being, who then arises out of God's relationship to creation, just as we arise out of our relationships.

It's impossible for humans to comprehend God. Our cognitive abilities are limited. If we can't wrap our heads around infinity then it's beyond our ken to understand how God interacts with the universe and humans + what having no beginning really means.
