Why would God show me this?
    by christs-love
Why would God show me this? I’m a nobody, I was In prayer, and in the far distant in the darkness I seen a sun in the position of a sunrise I seen it 3 separate times, each time the sun moved much closer to me, and as I am starring at it I felt glorious joy and happiness, and there with God I did not need anything to eat or drink, the only thing that matters is the relationship I have with him nothing else, and this world and everything it has to offer is absolutely nothing compare to what he has in store for us, and I realized I love Jesus more than anybody on earth.

Straight after this encounter, I could recognize sin whereby before I was blind and deaf to it?...

Why I could personally never chose to be Catholic
    by KingJamesVersionOnly
Reasons why I could personally never chose to be Catholic:
    Baptist prospective

1st of all, comparing spiritual things with spiritual, I feel that as old as the Roman Catholic Church is; it still has not worked out it's kinks.
    -
    1 Corinthians 2:13
    (KJV Bible)

I feel like if I'm going to partake congregationally to worship, it is a absolute must that i am 100% comfortable with the Church and its Doctrines, all elements combined.
    -
    Galatians 1:6-7
    (of
    Galatians 1:1-12
    ) (KJV Bible)

It is well known most Baptist have issues with Catholicism because of the Catholic claim of: transubstantiation. Within the ritual of a catholic mass, the pope holds a piece of bread, turns his back, and while his back is turned. Proclaims that it "literally" turns into the physical flesh of Christ.

3rdly, Christ is the head of the Church, There is absolutely no need for a Pope. It is opposite of scriptural and from what Iv heard, Pagan

What's the worst thing you've ever seen a moderator/admin do?
    by William
On another site of the same niche I caused a lot of doctrinal controversy. Half the site's staff agreed and the other did not. The debates I began soon divided the staff among themselves. They changed my password and email. I was unable to return to my account. Pretty slick, ehh? Just make it look like the person decided not to come back for more instead of acknowledge that staff banned me.

That's the way some people deal with opposing arguments. Instead of changing their position they'd rather resort to this tactic, in real life, it is the equivalent of resulting to physical violence to anyone that disagrees with their ideology.

    God bless,
    William

    The Cost of Discipleship.
    by justme
Luke 9:23- 27. Jesus said " If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."

After reading this passage several thoughts came to me. If I am to take up a cross what does this really mean, as no one actually goes about dragging a cross. I asked Jesus, I want to be an obedient Follower of you, but what is this cross you expect me to bare daily? I am not being silly here, but in all honesty I have read this passage many times and this time it spoke to me in a different way. The thought of taking up a cross has the idea of pain. I have had a lot of pain in my life and I try to avoid it if at all possible. But Jesus expects me to take up my cross daily, so I decided to really dig deeper.

In reading many related verses I came to some conclusions about what my cross is. Matthew 10:38-42 there is where I saw self-denial was a central example of Jesus Christ. Jesus wants me to serve others. In serving others...

    No One Can Save Themselves
    by Soul man
    No one can save themselves

Since God has fixed the creature so that he cannot save himself and needs another to save him, it is obvious that the Christ-Life in that creature could never be withheld because of the creatures failure or sin. So also Christ finds His greatest triumph and glory in the sphere of human helplessness. This is the great difference between the Christ Life and religion. Religion means in its simplest definition, "man doing something to please God." On the other hand, the issue of Satan being the sinner in the creature must be confronted.

Satan, as the sinner, must be disposed of forever. 1st John 3:8 tells us that it was Satan who was the sinner from the beginning.

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth...

My argument of Christianity to Jewish Faith
    in Other
    by KingJamesVersionOnly
    From a Christian standpoint:

    - Muslims see Jesus as a Holy prophet
    - Jewish faith or parts of Jewish faith recognize Jesus as a prophet
    - In the eyes of Christianity, He is our Christ.

Christian Scripture that would interest you:
    - Acts 5:34-42 (KJV Bible): Is proof there is foundation in the Holy name of "Jesus Christ."
    - Leviticus 23:14 (KJV Bible): All though this example is found in Christian scripture, Why am I not under wrath for eating bread or parched corn on days without offerings
to God? By Christian doctrine, Matthew 15:11 (KJV) was set the day Christ fulfilled the law (Matthew 5:17, KJV) by dying on the cross as an offering of Salvation to those who follow him.

What is Christian Salvation and how do you receive it?

Demons. In the church today? Do we ignore them?
    by justme
Luke 4:31-37 In these verses Jesus came across a man possessed by an unclean spirit or demon possessed in the synagogue on the Sabbath.

Who would ever have thought a man in the synagogue would be demon possessed, of all places? This got me to wondering do we have people in our churches who are demon possessed? A Christian can not be demon possessed as the Holy Spirit resides in every true believer. However Christians can be demon oppressed, thus being overly weary, burdened, depressed, mentally disturbed. We do have people suffering from depression, anxiety, overly burdened, very depressed, and with mental illness in our churches today, but often we ignore them. If we take Jesus example should we rebuke these things?

Jesus rebuked the demon and tole it "be quiet and come out of him." verse 35. Is this the example we should follow?

    Demonic oppression and influence.
    by Innerfire89
We already know that Christian can not be possessed by demons, we are indwelt by The Holy Spirit.
But we will still be attacked and temped by Satan and demons who hate us and want us to be unproductive in our service to Christ.

So, what does this oppression look like? The symptoms can be found right in Scripture.
    King Saul was troubled by a spirit, resulting in jealousy and murderous thoughts for David, and Saul's life ended in a bloody suicide. &lt;a class="rtBibleRef" href="1 Samuel 6:1–21.14" data-reference="<a class="rtBibleRef" href="1 Samuel 6:1–21.14" data-reference="1 Sam 6.14" data-version="esv" data-purpose="bible-reference" target="_blank">1 Sam 6.14</a>" data-version="esv" data-purpose="bible-reference" target="_blank"&gt;<a class="rtBibleRef" href="1 Samuel 6:1–21.14" data-reference="1...
